One beer – three hops – Weissenoher Hopfendreifaltigkeit

Single hop bottom-fermented Pilsner beers in the Festbier/ Imperial class brewed with BIOLAND aroma and flavor hops cold-hopped.

The beer:

A stronger German classic – Pilsner brewing style – single mash decoction – 13.4° P, all barley from organic farming from Ökofranken, all hops from organic farming from Lilling (Upper Franconia), base hopping 34 BE from Smaragd, Perle, Select and Tradition, bottom-fermented cold – lagered for 3 months in small tanks, unfiltered – 84% AV – 2.2% RE

The hops:

In addition to the usual hopping during wort boiling, we add a fourth hop addition in the lager tank after the main fermentation has taken place.

This type of hopping is also known as dry hopping. In particular, the volatile aromas of the hop oils are captured in the beer. Each of the three greenMONKeys is hopped with a different hop. We use either our home hop – the time-honored Hersbrucker Gebirgshopfen with 31BE (this is how our hop-growing villages smell at hop harvest time), or the two new Hüller flavor hops – Polaris 34BE (a hint of menthol refreshes and cools this beer) and Mandarina Bavaria 32BE (sweet citrus aromas caress the body of this beer).

Discover and enjoy these new hop notes in a well-known traditional beer with body behind the hops, but also with enough room for them to develop.

 

All our beers, which we brew in accordance with Bioland guidelines, are tested by an independent institute, ABCERT AG. Beer lovers who want to train, test and sharpen their sense of taste have the opportunity to taste the flavors of these hops side by side in the same beer. We have deliberately chosen a German bottom-fermented beer type, i.e. no Anglo-American hops, but hops from the German tribe, in order to offer you the usually extremely expressive craft beers in the greenMONKey in a “suitable for everyday use” variant.

To allow the aromas to fully develop, these beers should not be enjoyed too cold – i.e. at 9-11°C. For such a passionate beer, we brew only the best organic ingredients from the immediate vicinity. We don’t use anything else in the brew kettle!
